Pao Yeang Sdn Bhd was established in 1984 as a trading company, under the stewardship of our late founder, Tommy Low.

Through sheer grit and perseverance, Mr. Low restructured the company extensively in 1987, bringing in a new management team to spearhead Pao Yeang’s operations in its area of specialty: Supplying screen printing aterials to textile industry players, in an era when Japanese-made printing paste predominated.

This gamble was a success, and subsequent to the company’s success in the textile printing industry, Pao Yeang began supplying textile dyeing auxiliaries to the dye industry in 1995. By placing equal emphasis on quality and customer relationships, Pao Yeang also succeeded in fostering strong rapport with the various parties and players involved in the Malaysian textile industry.

At the turn of the millennium, several long-term partners invited Pao Yeang to join them in a foray to explore and expand overseas. This led to the founding of Pao Yeang (Cambodia) Ltd in Phnom Penh, Cambodia, which continues to support regional industrial players with similar dedication as its parent company in Malaysia.

This period in time also proved to be extremely fruitful to Pao Yeang, as the company established a new partnership with Taconic – an internationally-renowned manufacturer of advanced engineered composite materials, based in the USA – to distribute and supply PTFE coated fabrics, conveyor belts and tapes in Malaysia.

Indeed, this partnership marked a new milestone in Pao Yeang’s history, as it was the first time the company had ventured into a different industry from just the textile one, since 1987.
